FAQ

Questions, answered.

What ages is MathStar for?

MathStar is designed for children aged 4 to 11, covering the full UK primary maths curriculum from Reception through to Year 6.

Does it follow the UK National Curriculum?

Yes. Every Soundcheck drill is mapped to UK National Curriculum objectives for the child's chosen year group, from EYFS through Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Is MathStar free?

MathStar is free to download and free to play. Optional in-app purchases unlock extra merch and cosmetic upgrades for avatars — none of them affect learning.

What platforms is it on?

MathStar is available on iPhone and iPad through the App Store. An Android version is on the roadmap.

Is it safe for kids?

There is no chat, no messaging, and no public profiles. Class leaderboards only show a child's chosen rock-star name inside a class their teacher creates.

Can teachers use it in class?

Yes. Teachers can create a class code, share it with pupils, and see the class leaderboard. Progress is per-pupil and stays private to the class.

How is progress tracked?

MathStar quietly adapts difficulty based on speed and accuracy, keeping every child in their productive struggle zone without them ever seeing a level dial.

Do I need an account?

No account is required to start playing. Parents and teachers can optionally create one to sync progress across devices.
